I’m reading through a book long forgotten, Toward Soviet America. It was written by Communist Party, USA Chairman William Z. Foster in 1932. The Democrat’s push of socialized healthcare in both the House and Senate shows they’re trying to alter our great country into their Soviet dream.

A few excerpts of the American communist thoughts from over 75 years ago:

One of the basic concerns of the workers’ government will be, naturally, the conservation of the health of the masses. To this end a national Department of Health will be set up, with the necessary local and State sub-divisions. A free medical service, based upon the most scientific principles, will be established. The people will be taught how to live correctly. They will be given mass instruction in diet, physical culture, etc. A last end will be put to capitalist medical quackery and the adulteration of food.

The health and safety of the workers, in industry and in social life generally, is in the very nature of Socialism a first concern of the Soviet government. Tremendous progress is being made in these fields. In the same series of articles, Sirovich says, “Russia has a widespread and thorough health program. The Commissariat of Health gathers the best medical knowledge in the world and places it free of charge at the disposal of the Russian people.” While in capitalist countries, under the pressure of the speed-up system in industry, unemployment, low wages, undernourishment, etc., accidents pile up in industry and the health of the working class is undermined; in the Soviet Union just the reverse tendencies are manifest. The old-time plagues of cholera and typhus are now only terrible memories; the health of the masses is being scientifically cultivated. Industry is being made safe and healthy. No workers in the world have the vacations with pay, free rest homes and sanatoria, free medical services, etc., that the Russian workers have. In 1929 the Soviet government spent 54,500,000 rubles for safety and sanitation in industry; in 1931 this work absorbed 124,000,000 rubles, and further huge improvements are planned. For the general health services, including sport, the national budget for 1932 calls for 1,737,000,000 rubles. Such figures, of course, do not include the hundreds of millions more spent by the local Soviets.

America didn’t fall for this lie 77 years ago. I just pray we don’t fall for it today.

This was an email forwarded to me from my father. I’ve looked on snopes.com for my liberal friends that won’t believe it but even if it’s not an original letter, the message is the same…

I would like to start by thanking you for attending this meeting, though it’s not like you had much of a choice. After all, attendance was mandatory. I’m also glad many of you accepted my invitation to your family members to be here as well. I have a few remarks to make to all of you, and then we’ll retire to the ballroom for a great lunch and some employee awards.

I felt that this meeting was important enough to close all 12 of our tire and automotive shops today so that you could be here. To reassure you, everybody is being paid for the day — except me. Since our stores are closed we’re making no money. That economic loss is mine to sustain. Carrington Automotive has 157 full time employees and around 30 additional part-timers. All of you are here. I thank you for that.

When you walked into this auditorium you were handed a rather thick 78-page document. Many of you have already taken a peek. You were probably surprised to see that it’s my personal tax return for 2008. Those of you who are adept at reading these tax returns will see that last year my taxable income was $534,000.00. Now I’m sure this seems rather high to many of you. So … let’s talk about this tax return.

Carrington Automotive Enterprises is what we call a Sub-S – a Subchapter S corporation. The name comes from a particular part of our tax code. Sub-S status means that the income from all 12 of our stores is reported on my personal tax return. Businesses that report their income on the owner’s personal tax return are referred to as “small businesses.” So, you see now that this $534,000 is really the total taxable income – the total combined profit from all 12 of our stores. That works out to an average of a bit over $44,000 per store.

Why did I feel it important for you to see my actual 2008 tax return? Well, there’s a lot of rhetoric being thrown around today about taxes, small businesses and rich people. To the people in charge in Washington right now I’m a wealthy American making over a half-million dollars a year. Most Americans would agree: I’m just another rich guy; after all … I had over a half-million in income last year, right? In this room we know that the reality is that I’m a small business owner who runs 12 retail establishments and employs 187 people. Now here’s something that shouldn’t surprise you, but it will: Just under 100 percent … Make that 99.7 percent of all employers in this country are small businesses, just like ours.

Every one of these businesses reports their income on a personal income tax return. You need to understand that small businesses like our s are responsible for about 80 percent of all private sector jobs in this country, and about 70 percent of all jobs that have been created over the past year. You also need to know that when you hear some politician talking about rich people who earn over $200,000 or $500,000 a year, they’re talking about the people who create the jobs.

The people who are now running the show in Washington have been talking for months about raising taxes on wealthy Americans. I already know that in two years my federal income taxes are going to go up by about 4.5 percent. That happens when Obama and the Democrats allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. When my taxes climb by 4.5 percent the Democrats will be on television saying that this really isn’t a tax increase. They’ll explain that the Bush tax cuts have expired .. Nothing more Here at Carrington we’ll know that almost 5% has been taken right off of our bottom line. And that means it will be coming off your bottom line.

Numbers are boring, I know … But let’s talk a bit more about that $534,000. That’s the money that was left last year from company revenues after I paid all of the salaries and expenses of running this business. Now I could have kept every penny of that for myself, but that would have left us with nothing to grow our business, to attract new customers and to hire new employees. You’re aware that we’ve been talking about opening new stores in Virginia Beach and Newport News .. To do that I will have to buy or lease property, construct a building and purchase inventory. I also have to hire additional people to work in those stores. These people wouldn’t immediately be earning their pay. So, where do you think the money for all of this comes from? Right out of our profits … Right out of that $534,000. I need to advertise to bring Customers in, especially in these tough times. Where do you think that money comes from? Oh sure, I can count it as an expense when I file my next income tax return .. But for right now that comes from either current revenues or last year’s profits. Revenues right now aren’t all that hot … so do the math. A good effective advertising campaign might cost us more than $300,000.

Is this all starting to come together for you now?

Right now the Democrats are pushing a nationalized health care plan that, depending on who’s doing the talking, will add anywhere from another two percent to an additional 4.6 percent to my taxes. If I add a few more stores, which I would like to do, and if the economy improves, my taxable income … our business income …. could go over one million dollars! If that happens the Democrats have yet another tax waiting, another five percent plus! I’ve really lost track of all of the new government programs the Democrats and President Obama are proposing that they claim they will be able to finance with new taxes on what they call “wealthy Americans..”

And while we’re talking about health care, let me explain something else to you. I understand that possibly your biggest complaint with our company is that we don’t provide you with health insurance. That is because as your employer I believe that it is my responsibility to provide you with a safe workplace and a fair wage and to do all that I can to preserve and grow this company that provides us all with income. I no more have a responsibility to provide you with health insurance than I do with life, auto or homeowner’s insurance. As you know, I have periodically invited agents for health insurance companies here to provide you with information on private health insurance plans.

The Democrats are proposing to levy yet another tax against Carrington in the amount of 8 percent of my payroll as a penalty for not providing you with health insurance. You should know that if they do this I will be reducing every person’s salary or hourly wage by that same 8 percent. This will not be done to put any more money in my pocket. It will be done to make sure that I don’t suffer financially from the Democrat’s efforts to place our healthcare under the control of the federal government. It is your health, not mine. It is your healthcare, not mine. These are your expenses, not mine. If you think I’m wrong about all this, I would sure love to hear your reasoning

Try to understand what I’m telling you here. Those people that Obama and the Democrats call “wealthy Americans” are, in very large part, America ‘s small business owners. I’m one of them. You have the evidence, and surely you don’t think that the owner of a bunch of tire stores is anything special. That $534,000 figure on my income tax return puts me squarely in Democrat crosshairs when it comes to tax increases. Let’s be clear about this … crystal clear. Any federal tax increase on me is going to cost you money, not me. Any new taxes on Carrington Automotive will be new taxes that you, or the people I don’t hire to staff the new stores I won’t be building, will be paying. Do you understand what I’m telling you? You’ve heard about things rolling downhill, right? Fine .. then you need to know that taxes, like that other stuff, roll downhill. Now you and I may understand that you are not among those that the Democrats call “wealthy Americans,” but when this “tax the rich” thing comes down you are going to be standing at the bottom of the mud slide, if you get my drift. That’s life in the big city, my friends … where elections have consequences.

You know our economy is very weak right now. I’ve pledged to get us through this without layoffs or cuts in your wages and benefits. It’s too bad the politicians can’t get us through this without attacking our profits. To insure our survival I have to take a substantial portion of that $534,000 and set it aside for unexpected expenses and a worsening economy. Trouble is, the government is eyeing that money too … and they have the guns. If they want it, they can take it.

I don’t want to make this too long. There’s a great lunch waiting for us all. But you need to understand what’s happening here. I’ve worked hard for 23 years to create this business. There were many years where I couldn’t take a penny in income because every dollar was being dedicated to expanding the business. There were tough times when it took every dollar of revenues to replenish our inventory and cover your paychecks. During those times I earned nothing. If you want to see those tax returns, just let me know.

OK …. I know I’m repeating myself here. I don’t hire stupid people, and you are probably getting it now. So let me just ramble for a few more minutes. Most Americans don’t realize that when the Democrats talk about raising taxes on people making more than $250 thousand a year, they’re talking about raising taxes on small businesses. The U.S. Treasury Department says that six out of every ten individuals in this country with incomes of more than $280,000 are actually small business owners. About one-half of the income in this country that would be subject to these increased taxes is from small businesses like ours. Depending on how many of these wonderful new taxes the Democrats manage to pass, this company could see its tax burden increase by as much as $60,000. Perhaps more.

I know a lot of you voted for President Obama. A lot of you voted for Democrats across the board. Whether you voted out of support for some specific policies, or because you liked his slogans, you need to learn one very valuable lesson from this election. Elections have consequences. You might have thought it would be cool to have a president who looks like you; or a president who is young, has a buff body, and speaks eloquently when there’s a teleprompter in the neighborhood. Maybe you liked his promises to tax the rich. Maybe you believed his promise not to raise taxes on people earning less than a certain amount. Maybe you actually bought into his promise to cut taxes on millions of Americans who actually don’t pay income taxes in the first place. Whatever the reason .. your vote had consequences; and here they are.

Bottom line? I’m not taking this hit alone. As soon as the Democrats manage to get their tax increases on the books, I’m going to take steps to make sure that my family isn’t affected. When you own the business, that is what you’re allowed to do. I built this business over a period of 23 years, and I’m not going to see my family suffer because we have a president and a congress who think that wealth is distributed rather than earned. Any additional taxes, of whatever description, that President Obama and the Democrats inflict on this business will come straight out of any funds I have set aside for expansion or pay and benefit increases. Any plans I might have had to hire additional employees for new stores will be put aside. Any plans for raises for the people I now have working for me will be shelved. Year-end bonuses might well be eliminated. That may sound rough, but that’s the reality.

You’re going to continue to hear a lot of anti-wealth rhetoric out there from the media and from the left. You can chose to believe what you wish .. .but when it comes to Carrington Automotive you will know the truth. The books are open to any of you at any time. I have nothing to hide. I would hope that other small business owners out there would hold meetings like this one, but I know it won’t happen that often. One of the lessons to be learned here is that taxes … all taxes ….. and all regulatory costs that are placed on businesses anywhere in this country, will eventually be passed right on down to individuals; individuals such as yourself. This hasn’t been about admonishing anyone and it hasn’t been about issuing threats. This is part! of the education you should have received in the government schools, but didn’t. Class is now dismissed.

Back in 1993/4 I was a minority on a college campus. Being a Republican I soon to realized how liberals judged conservatives first hand. His name was Jake Gibbs and he was my professor of American History my freshman year. Anti-establishement he forced his opinions down the classes throats and I felt I had to respond to keep a debate alive. After all this was state money forcing his thoughts down young students minds.

During the same time period President Clinton via Hillary tried to takeover all medical care of the U.S. This would have been a takeover of our lives. I’m going back to this because this issue will be back under the current administration and the Mexican Flu is the perfect storm to get us there.

Just like Clinton’s plan, the government will automatically enroll every citizen into their system. What obligation does the government have to take over 1/7th of the U.S. economy. With public healthcare all patients would have to go through a ‘gatekeeper’ to decide what medical treatment they might need. Unlike Clinton’s plan we now have 45+ million illegal aliens draining our economy and even with amnesty they would not be able to pay their share of this burden.

This effected me as I realized how small businesses would be hit the hardest. Small businesses and capitalism have kept America the last place on earth anybody can make it. With these added payroll taxes on all employers to cover health coverage to all individuals the federal government has no limits on taxing these small business owners.

As in the UK, costs would be paid by a payroll tax between 7.5% and 10% to all businesses and workers in America. President Obama has already raised the tobacco tax this year with money going to fund Medicare. The tax on a pack of cigarettes has gone up from $.39 a pack to $1.01 and although this is one tax that we can collect from illegal aliens it’s also likely to make smokers buy cigarettes on the black market.

But back to the issue on socialize healthcare and working Americans paying for everybody. One issue that should make everybody not want this is the DMV. As anybody who has had a drivers license or registered their car knows, it is not a proficient and clean place. This soon could be our doctors offices. Well it already is if you count emergency rooms. English is not spoken and these leaches are forcing hospitals to close their doors do to lack of money.

You can also forget choosing your doctor just as you can’t choose what line at the DMV to be in. All doctors would be forced to join governmental networks as if they don’t join they will be forced to go out of business. My personal physician has already expressed his worries to me on this.

These taxes to pay for universal healthcare could destroy millions of jobs and in this recession even more of us could be put out of work. In a 1993 study (“The Employment Impact of Proposed Health Care Reform on Small Business” said it could be 1 out of 8 of us.

Most entry-level jobs in American could be gone if this goes into place as the majority of new jobs are created by the small business owner.

The government already controls over 45% of healthcare in America so you can say we have not had free market healthcare since the 40s. Our costs have gone up do to the following:

• The number of healthcare services from government services.

• Government mandates on insurance companies

This free market example I have to show how healthcare would benefit is Lasik eye surgery. As it is rarely covered by insurance or Medicaid the price has gone down through a free economy while the quality has gone up. When the government doesn’t get involved solutions improve!

We always hear that Canada and Europe all have socialized-medicine but ask anybody from those states that are over 65 how their “care” really is. The waiting list in Canada is so high that patients cross the border for surgery to not die waiting for it in America’s hat.

Once we venture to a socialize-healthcare plan we can never go back. Government doesn’t know how to downside or say something doesn’t work as you can just see with our public schools. The only answer government has to problems is to through more money on the problem. The problem I have with this is the money is OUR money.

Google is getting ready for this with their Google Health service. All citizens of our country would be registered as well as illegal aliens who have jobs. This will contain all our private medical information and has the chance to be used to harm a person with their records. Government does not need to step further in our lives and yet this is what the people have done by electing this new administration and with the help of the recent Democrat Arlen Spector could soon happen.

Sadly a socialized-healthcare plan enslaves us from birth until death. National ID cards and a computer database of every person in America our government will have total power over her citizens. Please write your local congressmen and senetors to tell them to not let any healthcare reform pass as it will be cradle-to-grave slavery to each and every one of us.

How can our government tell us the swine Mexican flu is not a threat? We now have 30 US Marines at Camp Pendleton quarantined after the first Marine had contracted the swine Mexican flu.

Illegal immigration is tied to the spread of the swine Mexican flu. I’m renaming the swine flu after the country of origin as it should be. Our government should do the same but no… Our politically correct “conscience” won’t let us tell the truth instead calling it the H1N1 flu. The 1918 flu was referred to as what? That’s right, the Spanish flu!

We can not stop the spread of the swine Mexican flu but we can slow it down by stopping illegals from entering our urgent cares and emergency rooms. How is it our leaders can have sympathy for non-citizens who are sick instead of the citizens who deserve to be protected!

The CDC has raised the alert level to 5 out of 6 and this shows that they are at least on top of things. Our leaders (Janet Napolitano) however are not. They are foolish or just stupid saying not to close our borders. How many other hundreds are sick here and haven’t even gone to the doctor?

We have an epidemic here and sadly the politicians are in charge. Just remember, microbes don’t discriminate and don’t care about your political views.

Today Arlen Specter switched to the Democrat party giving them a filibuster proof senate. It is clear that Mr. Specter switched parties just to remain in the Senate. Pat Toomey had already announced his intention to run for the Senate and the polls out of Pennsylvania show that he would defeat Sen. Specter in the primary.

In order to avoid losing his seat, Arlen has done what politicians do best. Took care of himself. One wonders what Harry Reid has promised the turncoat to make the switch as a month ago he told The Hill he absolutely would not switch parties:

[Democrats] are trying very hard for the 60th vote. Got to give them credit for trying. But the answer is no.

I’m not going to discuss private talks I had with other people who may or may not be considered influential. But since those three people are in the public domain, I think it is appropriative to respond to those questions.

I am staying a Republican because I think I have an important role, a more important role, to play there. The United States very desperately needs a two-party system. That’s the basis of politics in America. I’m afraid we are becoming a one-party system, with Republicans becoming just a regional party with so little representation of the northeast or in the middle atlantic. I think as a governmental matter, it is very important to have a check and balance. That’s a very important principle in the operation of our government. In the constitution on Separation of powers.

It’s too bad he didn’t do the honorable thing as Phil Graham of Texas did in the House. Upon his announcing his switch to the Republican Party, Sen. Graham resigned his seat and ran for election as a Republican. If Specter is so sure of his success as a Democrat, he should face the electorate and let them judge.

In all, Sen. Specter was never a vote for the Republicans, as evidenced by his vote for the so called stimulus package earlier this year. It was one of a long line of votes that got him the RINO label. Hopefully Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins follow suit so we can clear out the Republican party.

Well this is great. The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires is sponsoring two readings of a new book that explains the enduring iconic power of Ernesto ”Che” Guevara. You know “Che”, the hero of liberals who killed over 180 in Cuba alone.

Now U.S. taxpayers are funding the discussion at the Buenos Aires 35th International Book Fair of the Argentine revolutionary who dedicated his life to armed struggle against capitalism and imperialism. For one day at least, photos of Guevara shared space with the Stars and Stripes.

So this is how President Obama wants to warm up to South American leaders? Promoting a murderer like “Che” is not the way to do it. This is much worse than shaking hands with Hugo Chávez or wanting to end travel restrictions to Cuba.

I wonder how “Che” would feel about capitalism making what he is today: a brand.

As Muslims scream to the death to Britain and Obama removes the term ‘enemy combatant’ I’ve come to realize only the soccer hooligans can save the west.

I mean England’s patron saint is St. George and his cross constitutes England’s flag. A parade to honor St. George Day didn’t happen, for fear it would inflame England’s Muslim conquerors.

And recently a Dutch Right-wing politician and controversial anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders was refused entry to the United Kingdom despite being invited to visit by a member of the House of Lords.

I think we should unleash the English, Welsh and Scottish soccer hooligans to take back their country. If not, I feel Ray Davies was on target while writing Living on a Thin Line in 1983.

All the stories have been told
Of kings and days of old,
But there’s no England now.
All the wars that were won and lost
Somehow don’t seem to matter very much anymore.
All the lies we were told,
All the lies of the people running round,
They’re castles have burned.
Now I see change,
But inside we’re the same as we ever were.

Now another century nearly gone,
What are we gonna leave for the young?
What we couldn’t do, what we wouldn’t do,
It’s a crime, but does it matter?
Does it matter much, does it matter much to you?
Does it ever really matter?
Yes, it really, really matters.

Now another leader says
Break their hearts and break some heads.
Is there nothing we can say or do?
Blame the future on the past,
Always lost in blood and guts.
And when they’re gone, it’s me and you.

Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
