mexican flu – microbes don’t discriminate

How can our government tell us the swine Mexican flu is not a threat? We now have 30 US Marines at Camp Pendleton quarantined after the first Marine  had contracted the swine Mexican flu.

Illegal immigration is tied to the spread of the swine Mexican flu. I’m renaming the swine flu after the country of origin as it should be. Our government should do the same but no… Our politically correct “conscience” won’t let us tell the truth instead calling it the H1N1 flu. The 1918 flu was referred to as what? That’s right, the Spanish flu!

We can not stop the spread of the swine Mexican flu but we can slow it down by stopping illegals from entering our urgent cares and emergency rooms. How is it our leaders can have sympathy for non-citizens who are sick instead of the citizens who deserve to be protected!

The CDC has raised the alert level to 5 out of 6 and this shows that they are at least on top of things. Our leaders (Janet Napolitano) however are not. They are foolish or just stupid saying not to close our borders. How many other hundreds are sick here and haven’t even gone to the doctor?

We have an epidemic here and sadly the politicians are in charge. Just remember, microbes don’t discriminate and don’t care about your political views.

The Turncoat Senator

Today Arlen Specter switched to the Democrat party giving them a filibuster proof senate. It is clear that Mr. Specter switched parties just to remain in the Senate. Pat Toomey had already announced his intention to run for the Senate and the polls out of Pennsylvania show that he would defeat Sen. Specter in the primary.

In order to avoid losing his seat, Arlen has done what politicians do best. Took care of himself. One wonders what Harry Reid has promised the turncoat to make the switch as a month ago he told The Hill he absolutely would not switch parties:

[Democrats] are trying very hard for the 60th vote. Got to give them credit for trying. But the answer is no.

I’m not going to discuss private talks I had with other people who may or may not be considered influential. But since those three people are in the public domain, I think it is appropriative to respond to those questions.

I am staying a Republican because I think I have an important role, a more important role, to play there. The United States very desperately needs a two-party system. That’s the basis of politics in America. I’m afraid we are becoming a one-party system, with Republicans becoming just a regional party with so little representation of the northeast or in the middle atlantic. I think as a governmental matter, it is very important to have a check and balance. That’s a very important principle in the operation of our government. In the constitution on Separation of powers.

It’s too bad he didn’t do the honorable thing as Phil Graham of Texas did in the House. Upon his announcing his switch to the Republican Party, Sen. Graham resigned his seat and ran for election as a Republican. If Specter is so sure of his success as a Democrat, he should face the electorate and let them judge.

In all, Sen. Specter was never a vote for the Republicans, as evidenced by his vote for the so called stimulus package earlier this year. It was one of a long line of votes that got him the RINO label. Hopefully Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins follow suit so we can clear out the Republican party.

U.S. Embassy promotes study of Marxist terrorist in Argentina

Well this is great. The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires is sponsoring two readings of a new book that explains the enduring iconic power of Ernesto ”Che” Guevara. You know “Che”, the hero of liberals who killed over 180 in Cuba alone.

Now U.S. taxpayers are funding the discussion at the Buenos Aires 35th International Book Fair of the Argentine revolutionary who dedicated his life to armed struggle against capitalism and imperialism. For one day at least, photos of Guevara shared space with the Stars and Stripes.

So this is how President Obama wants to warm up to South American leaders? Promoting a murderer like “Che” is not the way to do it. This is much worse than shaking hands with Hugo Chávez or wanting to end travel restrictions to Cuba.

I wonder how “Che” would feel about capitalism making what he is today: a brand.

Audit the Federal Reserve

Last month, Ron Paul introduced HR 1207 (Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009). This represents the first attempt at a true audit of the Federal Reserve since its inception in 1913 as it’s books are not open to the public.

There are now 88 co-sponsors of this bill but if your representative doesn’t support Ron Paul’s bill, contact them EVERY FRIDAY and ask that they support the “Federal Reserve Transparency Act H.R. 1207.“.

If you called before and if your representative is not yet listed as a co-sponsor, please follow up today and ask them to take a position either way so we all know where they stand on the issue of bringing transparency to the Federal Reserve.
